What the four colors are for

This is a plain-language map of four work-and-relationship styles. On this page: Red is expressive energy, Yellow is drive, Blue is analysis, Green is stability. Other books sometimes swap the warm colors. Read the description, not only the crayon.

It is not official FPA, FBA, or any licensed color instrument. For workplace letters take DISC. For research traits take the Big Five. For four-letter type language take the 16 types test.

Is this the official FPA / FBA color test? ▼
No. Popular Chinese four-color systems (often called FPA) are branded products. This is an original informal quiz using the widely known Red / Yellow / Blue / Green map. It is for self-reflection, not certification.
Why do some charts swap Red and Yellow? ▼
Different authors assign drive and expression to different hues. On this page Yellow is drive and Red is expressive energy. Read the profile, not only the color name. If you already learned another map, match the description, not the crayon.
How is this different from DISC? ▼
It is close. Red lines up with Influence, Yellow with Dominance, Green with Steadiness, Blue with Conscientiousness. Take the DISC test if you want workplace letter names. Take this one if color language is how you already think.
Can I be two colors? ▼
Yes. Read the bars. The second color is often how you behave when the first is blocked or exhausted.
